Day 2 of No Supervision
Day 1 of No Supervision Updates:
- I tried to review what I'd already read of "Getting Things Done" by David Allen but my eyes glazed over lol. I'm gonna just keep trying until I get through it, I guess. Commit to a couple pages a night, maybe.
- I have some plans for the cleaning/re-organizing of my apartment, but they're all in my head. I've decided this will be a Friday night planning session (at a bar bc I can't be too put together) followed by some Saturday execution (of aforementioned plan)
- I will use post-it notes to guess where I want to put the wall hangings I already have. And possibly post-it notes for where I want "new" things to go
- I have not worked on this but tbh I know I have some things in my back pocket. I'll probably focus on this on Sunday. For now: veggie pasta bake, white bean salad sandwich (like tuna salad sandwich but cheap and less mercury poisoning, frozen dumplings, brown rice + salad mix + low cal dressing.
- Organizing my digital space is...going to require some additional thought. I think I'll definitely need to lean on GTD here.
- So I decided on a fic idea that will probably be just for me (and like one specific friend if I decide to share it). I might actually be too excited for this idea, it will end up distracting me.
- (also 8) I will also lay out this plan on Thursday or Friday evening. The nice thing is that holiday presents do not have to be done before the end of the three weeks ¢. At the very least, I've decided most of them will be done via punch needling for time's sake.
- (and also 10) I will listen to indie Korean music until I find a plan, to bully myself into making a plan (I can't listen to K-Pop I'm sorry, it hurts my head. 1, antiblackness and 2, it's just annoying I left my 90s boyband synth pop listening days in the 90s where they belong)
- Figuring out my skin palette can actually wait until like, the week of Black Friday because if I'm going to buy something anyways, it'll be then
- Ditto for the capsule wardrobe
- Ditto x2 for the skincare routine if we're being honest
- I have to call someone (which I hate because I'm a millennial) and I have to scan and upload documents...so I'll probably go into the office on Friday so I can do that. Ugh.
- Thinking about organizing my work file and email folders to match my project mgmt tool folders/lists makes my head hurt. I don't want to do it. Maybe I'll do it the week of Black Friday (but specifically beforehand) so Black Friday can feel like a reward to myself
- Something I didn't put on here yesterday but realized is just as important as 14--I need to renew my driver's license. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I will need to make yet another phone call because I need to understand what exactly is needed for this.
- Another important thing is that I need to learn how to make a specific dish. It's supposedly simple, but I need to buy ingredients and actually, y'know, do it.
Okay so I just realized that even though I skipped numbers in my typing, the actual numbers displayed are still in consecutive order. Meaning in my "Draft" version, my numbered bullets go to 17 but publicly, it goes to 15. Odd, but I don't care to change it.
For re-organizing my apt, my plan is to keep track of things as I go (hopefully this doesn't make me too antsy). Example below (and no I'm not going to be doing this in BearBlog. I'm going to be doing it in Excel or via a Google Form because the column misalignment would make me go cross-eyed).
| What is it (Category) | What is it (Item) | Where was it | Where does it need to go | What is the barrier that stopped it from being where it needed to be? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Linens | Towel | Room 1 | Room 2 | Many of these answers will be "laziness." I foresee baskets in my future |
| Cat Stuff | Cat Brush | Kitchen | I'm actually not sure where I should be localizing my cat-care items. Many of these are going to be question-marks, which will also inform me of my home's organizational needs. | I suspect many of these answers will also be 'it doesn't have a formalized home yet' |
Day 2
- It's starting off rough, ngl. Excited for the fun things, struggling to focus on the important things already.
