Day 15 of No Supervision
Day 14 Update:
- Yesterday was a wash in a lot of ways, ngl. I burned myself out for sure (started burned out).
Some thoughts from my initial Day 1 list
Finish reading "Getting Things Done" by David Allen and devise a plan for implementing what I've learned (I've already started this but stopped many times...) (this will be tagged with "GTD")I subconsciously replaced this with "Stolen Focus" by Johann Hari. It's been a pretty good read, even if it's depressing.- Cleaning and re-organizing my apartment -> This work has stalled since I changed which room I'm focusing on, but my goals for tomorrow and Weds are the bathroom and kitchen. Big problem areas.
- Decorating my apartment (within a reasonable budget) -> If I don't end up doing this as part of Weds/Thurs, I'm just going to wait until this period of time is over.
- Finding a meal prep style (and recipes) that I actually like and can sustain (Must be: plant-based, cheap, tasty, and easy to store/prep) -> LOL a "healthy" meal prep style didn't really take hold, but I have started eating semi-lower calorie again. I definitely gained 5-ish pounds in two weeks due to the excessive amount of butter noodles I was eating.
- Organize a digital space for me to start writing again (Probably in Obsidian) -> This is such a frustrating non-starter. It just feels like such a big project, that I can't really grasp my head around. I'm doing some things, but I just can't really figure out a system that truly works for me. I need the freedom of being able to write down but the systems integration of an app. And I don't want to pay for an app nor do I want to tie myself to an app that will (almost inevitably) end up integrating AI and costing me more money.
- Start writing again -> This one has actually slowly kindled here and there. Not as fervently as I had originally planned but truthfully, this list was way longer than it should have been.
- Create a scheduled plan for cross stitching (or needle punching) holiday presents -> Schedule was not really created but the design patterns for what I'm planning to do were done today (and I bought one). So now I just need to check what I currently have so I can identify what materials I still need to buy complete these
- Create those holiday presents -> No official schedule was created so these are technically not late. And also most of them do not need to start before this time period ends anyways.
- Try to learn some Korean (I have a YT playlist saved somewhere for this) -> For the life of me, I cannot find the YT playlist I thought I had saved a long time ago. Welp.
- Find Korean podcasts or shows that I like so I can try to actually keep it up. -> Yeah, no.
- Figure out my skin color palette (according to beauty gurus on the internet) -> Actually did this one I think! I'm a "Dark/Deep Winter".
- Figure out a capsule wardrobe so I can dress my age and not like I'm still in college -> Figuring out I'm a "Dark/Deep Winter" will hopefully serve as a good starting point, though I have admittedly done very little to tackle this issue head-on. I think I just need to watch some more youtube videos and really commit to throwing clothes out.
- Figure out a skincare routine that doesn't break the bank or my skin barrier -> Haven't started but do have a YT video queued up.
- This one should actually go first but I screwed myself over with the numbered list and I'm not going to re-number them all: get my finances in order by actually listening to my accountant and doing what he says lol. -> I have done 1/3 things I needed to do so far. The person I needed to call is going to call me back today. The other things I need to do......I need to find a time to schedule them in.
- Organize my work file and email folders to match my project management tool folders/lists -> Lol.
- Driver's License renewal--I took a practice permit test and feel pretty confident I can pass this, I just need to actually take it. Currently planning to go tomorrow....
